Games And Activities
Icebreaker 0- 5 minutes
Comet Blast: A large circle is marked out with all of the children inside. A ‘comet’ (swiss ball) is then rolled through the circle, the last person to get hit by the comet is the winner.
Warm Up 5-15 mins
Planets: The space is divided into 4 ‘planets’ children have to move from planet to planet as called out by the party leader at first by running and then as an astronaut and an alien.
Orbit: Children have to jump over a rope as it orbits the party leader in the middle of the circle.
Challenges 15-35 mins
Planet Hopping: Hoops are laid out in a trial around the space with one group of children at one end and one at the other. The aim is to jump all the way through the solar system to conquer the other team’s planet. Remember To Walk And Jump Like An Astronaut!
Draw My Alien: Children put into pairs, with one child given a picture of an alien. They have to explain to their partner how to draw the alien that they have on the card without showing them. The pair with the most accurate picture is the winner.
Games 40-60 mins
Activities finish on a high with game based activities giving children the chance to work off that least bit of energy before birthday cake!
UFO’s and Space Ships: Cones are scattered around the space either the correct way up (spaceship) or upside down (UFO). Children are divided into two teams and have to try and convert as many UFO’s or Spaceships to their side as they can in a short time.
Space Treasure Hunt: Space related props are hidden throughout the space for children to find.
Messages From Mars: Children sit in a two circles with the party leader introducing a message to each circle. Each circle passes a message around the circle, the team with the message closest to the original message is the winner.
